At last car hire companies have finally accepted, that some customers do not have or do not want to use credit cards and will now accept a debit card to book a rental car.
Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty and Goldcar will accept a debit card at most locations for car hire once the debit card is in main driver's name. This applies to MasterCard® or VISA® debit cards issued by any bank, the numbers will need to be embossed on the card. Please note, the deposit amount will be charged so you will need to have sufficient funds in your account to cover the deposit. The deposit amount will vary according to the value of the car. Alternatively you can take out an additional insurance with the car supplier to cover the deposit.
Maximum rental duration 28 days if using a debit card. Prepaid and electronic cards (Visa Electron) are not accepted.
First do a search for available cars at your destination www.airportcarhire.com
When the results appear check the filter to display Both Credit and Debit Cards. This is located at the bottom of the left side column under the heading Cards Accepted At Pick-Up.
