Beautiful Scenic Drives in Sicily
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, many couples are scrambling for ideas on what they should do for their partner. From flowers and chocolates, to gifts, spa days and jewelry, the Valentine’s Day go-to list is extensive. But when you really look at it, are any of these items really all that memorable? The flowers will die, the chocolates will be eaten and end up around your hips and gifts are just that, material items that don’t truly sum up your relationship. Airports in Sicily
Sicily has four international airport you can fly to. The largest is Catania Fontanarossa Airport situated in the east of the island, next is Palermo Airport situated Northwest of the capital city Palermo formerly know as Punta Raisi Airport the third is Trapani Birgi Airport and the smallest of the four airports in Sicily is Comiso Airport Vincenzo Magliocco Airport, which has less then 60,000 passengers per year.
Monreale
Located near the city of Palermo, Monreale is best known for its olive, orange and almond trees. If you do visit Monreale, be sure to see the Cathedral of Monreale, a stunning example of Norman architecture with its breathtaking interior including mosaic images set against a gold background.
Villa Romana del Casale
Just outside Piazza Arnerina, is the Villa Romana del Casale, one of the Sicily’s must-see attractions. Featuring one of the largest and best-preserved collections of ancient mosaics in the world, this 4th-century Roman villa includes a mosaic depicting the Olympic games which features the first image of women wearing what are known today as bikinis.
Palermo
Known more for its boisterous street markets than for its cultural attractions, Palermo is well worth exploring. The top attraction is the Catacombe dei Cappuccini, an underground maze of open crypts beneath the Capuchin monastery.

Just outside the city of Agrigento, lies the Valley of the Temples where a series of 5th-century Doric temples stand on a ridge facing the sea including the temples of the goddesses Concordia and Juno Lacinia.
Mount Etna
One of the world’s most active volcanoes, Mount Etna stands around 3,300 meters (11,000 feet) tall and is perfect for the more adventurous couple seeking a glimpse of this magnificent natural wonder.
